My son has been offered a place at KEA, OOC with a score of 236. We live in Acocks Green 5755m from CHB, disappointed to not get our first choice.

Hi Ummeesa2010

Sorry to hear that your son was not allocated a place at his catchment school. My child was in the same position last year (KEFW). Fortunately we only had to wait for 3 weeks until a place was offered (waiting lists returned from council 23rd March).

I have looked back on my posts from last year and saw that CHB school was able to make an out of catchment offer on the 22nd July. I assume from this information that all of the in catchment boys who had achieved the priority score were eventually offered places.

I appreciate that it can be a long wait but fingers crossed that your son will be offered a place.

There is usually plenty of movement from the waiting lists. 3 years ago my niece was 50th on the waiting list for FW and still got a place!

This was prior to the catchment changes.

A number of children who have been offered CH will actually be holding private school places, which should mean waiting list movement as they accept those places.

I wonder if ALL in catchment Non PP (i.e cat 4) children were offered place for all the Birmingham Grammars last year and whether possibly they will be for this year.
A friend's son in Tyseley (non-PP) was not offered a place at the only GS in catchment (CHB) despite scoring 248. Deeply unfair.
Hi has your friends son been offered a place yet at CHB?
