Re: QM Walsall results
Definitely still worth applying if you would like him to go there. Per the info on the results letter, it states 324 was the cut off for 2020. Not sure if that was March 1st or from waiting list. Your DS got Way over the QS.LChelt wrote:Got my son’s score for QMGS, 323.5, not enough for a place realistically but we are very proud of him anyway!

Thanks, we are putting it as first preference & we’ll see what happens.jagfpm wrote:Definitely still worth applying if you would like him to go there. Is anyone still waiting for the results? We are Solihull based and haven't had the letter yet, our son was bit impatient, thought the first class mail is usually delivered next day...

If you have not received your sons’ results letter and want him to attend Queen Mary's Grammar School, we suggest that you make sure that you place QMGS as a preference when completing your Local Authority preference form.

True, but under the circumstances, the best way forward, probably, if you actually would want a place at the school if one could be offered? You can always retrieve, amend and (most importantly) resubmit your CAF at any point up to the deadline, if you do receive your DS's results. But putting a school which you can't be offered doesn't affect your chance of being offered a place at any other school on your CAF.

Just received the letter, he got 374.73... all the best!
Re: QM Walsall results
Just received ours! It seems Royal Mail piled up our letters since last week. No more stress now.

Actually, this is isn't true for Sandwell this year. They changed their policy this year and, once the online preference form has been submitted, it can't be changed. I think Birmingham and Walsall LAs still allow changes to the form until the deadline of 31st October.ToadMum wrote:You can always retrieve, amend and (most importantly) resubmit your CAF at any point up to the deadline, if you do receive your DS's results.

Interesting - do Sandwell / local academy secondary schools usually find themselves wasting a lot of time and resources defending appeals from parents who swear blind they submitted the form properly, despite the electronic trail indicating otherwise?JustOutside wrote:Actually, this is isn't true for Sandwell this year.
