Issues applying online for secondary place - Birmingham

Hi

I understand that the deadline to apply for a secondary school place is tomorrow

However I have been trying to apply via the Birmingham council website since yesterday but once I register I receive no email back to proceed - really now worried I may miss tomorrow’s deadline! I’ve emailed the admissions email and also tried to call the admissions line - automated message saying closed

Anyone else had this issue? And would the now prejudice our application

I presume you've checked your junk mail? Is there an option to hand deliver a paper copy?

agree check junk mail, try a different computer with a different e-mail address - unfortunately I don't think B'ham make it easy to do paper applications

Yes tried junk - even added their address to safe list like they have suggested online! So very frustrating! Why set a deadline on a Sunday when they don’t answer calls on weekends!

It is always October 31st - just happens to be a Sunday this year.

Can you try setting up a different email address with hotmail or someone else.

If you've tried all the things you can do - clear cache / restart / try different device / browser / email address, does your LA have an out of hours contact number, where you can check whether anyone else has reported the same issue and if so, is something being done to resolve it?

(Although perhaps ours is an exception, because we do actually get through to a real person, or at least we did the last time I needed to a few weeks ago).

You don't have to have an email address to apply online (although you won't get the offer email). Did you click 'next' after registering?

Hope you’ve sorted out the issue.

I had the same issue and found out that it was purely because my password did not match the requirement. I received the email as soon as a more complicated password was used.

This worked thanks!!!! By not entering an email address it allowed me onto the next stage!!
