Bishop Vesey's or Handsworth Grammar?

Having been offered and accepted a place at Handsworth, Son has now been offered a place at Bishop Vesey's
We are unsure whether to continue with Handsworth, or to now accept Bishop Vesey's (we have to accept or reject BVGS next week and only found out about offer yesterday!)
In terms of travel, BVGS is slightly further, but there is not much in it.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Any comments / experiences relating to either school?

I would definately accept Bishops Vesey if nothing else it has considerably better results than Handsworth Grammar

If possible I'd go with your son and visit both again - and see which environment you think would suit your son best. Presumably Bishop Vesey's was originally higher on your list. It is further away, so - do the reasons for putting it first still stand? If it feels right, and the journey is sensible, your son will happily travel the extra distance. I wouldn't worry about exam results though, when choosing between grammars.

I forgot to say - I have no experience of either school - but my son has chosen Bishop Vesey's over the alternatives all of which have more straightforward journeys - and he's chosen it because it feels right for him - and I agree with him. So I'll only know in a few years whether this was the right approach! My daughter also chose the grammar that she felt most comfortable in, and we are all very pleased with her choice - so far so good!
