KEG- School alocation of Places

Post by davidC »

Hello, new to this site and wandered if someone can help. As I understand it, with King Edwards grammar school the registration and the LEA form, the school of choice has to be listed in order of your preference. That is quite clear, however how do the grammar schools decide on allocating places based on the exam results. For example, if you put

1 Camphill
2. Five Ways
3. TBC
4. TBC
5. TBC

If you fail to meet the Camphill target, is place 2nd offered to you automatically if you pass and meet the criterias for Five Ways. OR does the person who puts Five ways as 1st choice get the perference over you?

Have I made it clear?

Hi David

It's always strictly on the basis of score in the test and preference order. So if you put Camp Hill 1st and don 't quite make the pass score but achieve the pass score for Five Ways, then you will be allocated a place a Five Ways.

If you read through some of the earlier postings this will probably become clearer.
