Problems getting Test Scores for the KE grammars

In that case I would have to assume that looking up scores and writing a letter to someone who wasn't even interested in a place at one of their schools in the first place might not be terribly high on their list of priorities at their busiest time of year, so that might be why they didn't immediately jump to attention.
What insults and challenging comments have i made....kevin8 wrote:Deborah
This forum is a place where we receive advices and extremely valuable information from great bunch of people, but Deborah please not that the above cannot be achieved by either insulting or challenging them!!
I simply asked if anyone else was having trouble with KE Foundation Office...
Get off your high horses!!!
Hi Deb489
Just wanted to let you know that I too have also had trouble getting test results for my son. And it is a little frustrating. He also didn't have a KE grammar school as his first choice but I don't see why he still shouldn't see how he got on! He worked hard for the test and it seems pointless not to know the outcome. So I do understand your frustration.
By the way - you say that you arranged to pick up the results in person. How did you arrange this with them? I can't get through on the phone and no-one has answered my e-mails.
Thanks
Roc

I have 1 daughter who did get to a KE grammar school and 1 who didn't. I know they both worked their hardest and both got the same reward.
I didn't ask for the mark of my daughter who did get in because the foundation office said that the schools preferred the pupils not to know so that they started on a level playing field, rather than comparing test results which, after all, only reflect performance on 1 day, and that day almost a year in the past.
I asked for the score of the other daughter because I wanted to know whether she should appeal. whether we should keep up her hopes of getting a place as people dropped out, and whether to keep her name on the waiting list.
The foundation office were always very helpful, and whilst the letter took a little time to come, it arrived in plenty of time for us to lodge an appeal (if we had wanted to).

Hello All
I am also still waiting for KE results.
Can anybody explain to me how the waiting list works? Do all children who get a close result automatically get put on the waiting list, or do parents have to apply? I'm worried that she might miss out if she only missed by a point or two and I haven't asked for her to added to a list.
Of course, if she wasn't close it isn't relevant, but her friends all got their results turned around in a day so she is wondering why hers aren't coming.
Thanks!

The parents of my pupils who were unsuccessful asked almost immediately for test results but had to wait a week for them this year (which, I think, is longer than usual).
They were also told their position in the waiting list. None had applied to go on the waiting list; it was automatic.
From hearsay (and I think KenR will back me up), the Foundation Office is usually very helpful and do understand what an anxious time it is for parents. I can only think they are facing an unprecedented number of enquiries or have a member of the staff away sick.
For each point they are under, there are often 14+ children on that point; if children have the same score, then distance is the tie-breaker.
I hope I have reassured you, Jeshornet, that she won't be missing out in this respect but, of course, I can understand why you are anxious to know if she still has any chance, however slim, of attaining a place.

No - I don't think we are demanding them 'now, now, now' - it would just be nice and in some cases very reassuring to know them.
It just seems strange that some people have managed to get hold of the results already and others not.
There may be some people for whom the anxious wait is still going on and didn't end on March 2nd. I can fully sympathise with them as I'm sure most people can who were in a very anxious state in the run up to that date.
