Catchment Area Dr Challoner's
Hi Everyone
I am a little bit worried about the catchment area as it seems to shrink every year.
We live in Chalfont St Peter, less than 5 miles away (distance as the crow flies) from Dr Challoner's.
Our son qualified for admission in a Grammar School and Dr Challoner's was our first choice. But he has no siblings in this school.
Does he have a good chance to be accepted or do we still have to worry?

mad?
Re: Catchment Area Dr Challoner's
Hopefully you should be OK 5 miles away, even if Sally-Anne's crystal ball is over enthusiastic. (Just for clarity, the catchment doesn't change each year, but the allocation distances may do).

If you take a look at the download on the first post in this thread https://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum ... 12&t=54212" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you will see that DCGS has never allocated to less than 5 miles.Edouard wrote:We live in Chalfont St Peter, less than 5 miles away (distance as the crow flies) from Dr Challoner's.
No promises, but I think it will be OK.

Thank you for the link. I checked it and it looks like Dr Challoner's is the exception that proves the rule about the catchment area...mad? wrote:You might find this thread useful

Oh well, we just have to cross fingers.

Thank you. It seems promising indeed.Sally-Anne wrote:If you take a look at the download on the first post in this thread https://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum ... 12&t=54212" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you will see that DCGS has never allocated to less than 5 miles.Edouard wrote:We live in Chalfont St Peter, less than 5 miles away (distance as the crow flies) from Dr Challoner's.
