Re: Waiting List- Wycombe High School
Thank you for your reply.
Can I ask if any one of you can clarify this for me :
If none of the 6 schools in your preference can be allocated in the 3rd round of allocations, should they have allocated the nearest school available at the time of 3rd round or can they say offer a place after the 3rd round ? After we mentioned in one of our appeals yesterday about not being allocated a school yet to the Admissions Authority, they have come back with offering a school place that is 'requires improvement' as none other schools have space. So should they have allocated a local school at 3rd round, wouldn't we have been in a better position with at least a 'good school' as almost every school has offered some places in 3rd round.
Any advice given is much appreciated.
thanks

Re: Waiting List- Wycombe High School
We don't have 'rounds' for allocating places here - my observation is that a 'nearest undersubscribed' offer is made as soon as proof of address is provided. Do you know that the 'good' schools that offered places in the third round were actually undersubscribed at that point, though? Could they just have offered due to places having come free in the general 'jigging around' at this time of year, due to people winning appeals at other schools, giving up a state place for indie etc?

Re: Waiting List- Wycombe High School
You should accept the place offered and continue to be on the waiting lists for your preferred schools. You can also change your preferences if you want to add another school that you are pretty sure you will get a place at (& maybe take off the schools that you have no chance of getting).
See this section on the Bucks council website
You can see the allocations for both grammar & Upper schools for each round (March, April, May 2022) here.
Have you had a reply from Bucks about why you weren't offered a place at all on March 1st?
ETA: for anyone reading this thread in future years, the advice is always to put at least one school on your CAF that you are confident of getting & would be reasonably happy about, then accept it on allocation day, go on waiting lists/appeal etc for other schools.
