12 + Transfer Appeal

Post by mum of one »

Please can anyone advise me about academic evidence for a transfer appeal to Grammar School. DD has passed is that enough ie: she has already qualified or do I still take school reports etc?

Any help appreciated!

Many Thanks

Hi Mum of One and welcome

Did your daughter take her 12+ in February this year and pass and you already know which Bucks GS she has been allocated (I know the 12+ school allocations are out any day now) ?

On a transfer appeal, in theory, your DD has already satisfied the academic criteria to attend any of the Bucks GS but, if the school you want to attend is 'full' and you still want to try for a place you have to prove why it means such a lot to your DD - in other words if it is a language specialist school, a great report about your DD's current linguistic ability could go a long way, if the school favours performing arts or science, evidence that this aspect of learning means a lot to your DD, would be ideal.

So if you can give a bit more detail about your situation, I am sure someone will be able to assist you with your plan of action.

Hi Mum of One

The evidence required for a 12+ Transfer Appeal will be exactly the same as for an 11+ transfer appeal. All the information you need is in the Appeals Q&A, Section C - Appeals for an over-subscribed school:

Hope that helps.
