Not a pleasant drive to Oxford from Risborough ... I would not want to do it everyday.

I think there are school coach services from MGS and Abingdon from Thame, but could well have my facts wrong!

Because the grammars in Bucks are so good and so numerous, there are relatively few indie senior schools (hence two of those suggested by Tipsy are not in Bucks, albeit near to it).

It's also worth mentioning that Arts Ed in Tring is a small and very specialist performing arts school, so not suitable for everyone and Berkhamsted is co-ed, not single gender (though the boys and girls are largely separated from ages 11-16).

Yes, but Arts Ed and Berko are in Herts and I think Claire's Court is in Berks.

Tring is a stone's throw from the border

I know (I said so), and Berko is just as near the county border as Arts Ed, though neither are especially near Risborough or Wycombe!

I think we're getting a little too specific. The real issue is the relative lack of indies in the area. Go all out for 11+ grammar and if that doesn't work out... it gets tricky.

I'm not sure that Geography is Tipsy's strongest subject!! It's not just distances in Bucks, it's what the route is like!
