Two weeks and counting....

Hi All

I just needed to tell someone anonymous just how anxious I'm feeling with only two weeks to go until this year's results are out. The 11+ error certainly hasn't helped! Whenever any of the Mum's from my DS's School ask how we think he did - we just say 'he said he did his best'! I found it amazing when one Mum told me, 'My son said that he can't understand how anyone could fail those papers!!'. I hope for their sake their son is selected for Grammar or they'll look daft! No one knows the outcome until they've had the results. The School my DS goes to is so competitive, I can't bear it, so I've stayed away from the School gate for the 2 months. How sad us that?!

Our DS is pretty chilled out, so that's the main thing I suppose. Although saying that, he is absolutely desperate to go to AGS!

Anyway, thanks for listening.

I've been on countdown for weeks now ... I was advised to keep myself busy and not dwell on it ... so resorted to having a major sort out of childrens' bedrooms  (now that's stress!!!)

However, as you said 'nif229' ... two weeks to go. Many parents starting to wonder the outcome.

We've also said that our DD did her best and whatever the outcome are still proud of her :)

Still doesn't stop us parents anxiously waiting for those results!

that IS quite a long wait, if you're only crawling out of denial now. We get our results in two weeks time ... and we don't take the test til tomorrow.
We, at least, won't have time to resort to tackling the kids' rooms!!!

Milla

We've been waiting for four weeks already!! I think that's why nerves are starting to kick in. As Heartmum quite rightly said, we'll be so proud of all of DCs whatever the outcome.

I wish your DC good luck for tomorrow!

Best wishes

ah, bless you!
19th / 20th Nov is going to be a fervent furnace of anxiety, non? Well aware that in, er, 17 hours, just transfer one load of worry for another ... that of .... The Envelope! Still in denial really!

ds = zoob dd = zoobette(14) names changed(too late) to remain anonymous

Me "so zoob 8 days to go how are you feeling must be pretty nervous eh" (trying to remain calm and so not spook the poor kid)

Zoob "umm (counts on fingers to eight seemingly very slowly, suddenly making me worried about his chances in the maths questions) yeah i am a little worried it's a big day very important for us all, sometimes i do worry at night about how its all going this year not as good as last year I was awake last night worrying about it"

Me "but don't worry too much whatever happens we'll still love u"

Zoob "I'll be ok it's you i'm worried about I know how much it means to you"

Me (oh my god does it show that much how much pressure am i putting on him) "er no no honestly it's not too bad i'm fine about it whatever the outcome i'm sure we can make it ok no problem um what about your friends are they worried"

Zoob "no why would they they think it's a laugh whats happened this year they can't wait"

Me "oh ok" (what!! why aren't they worried !!)

Zoob " but dad (still counting on his fingers and looking puzzled) i think you counted wrong it's nine days to go"

Me "no it's 8 (really worried now if he can't count to 8 what chance has he got)"

Zoob "no honestly dad 7 days till thursday then 8 friday and 9 saturday kick off is early 12:45 and my biggest concern is gerrard as his groin is a real problem this year"

Me " oh right (duh!!) yeah but torres is back and man city have looked a little vulnerable in defence this could be the turning point. but hey the match is the day after the 11 plus results how are you feeling about them?"

Zoob " oh yeah not worried if i fail zoobette said she'd show me were to sit at break to be with all the cool dudes she said she sits there with her hood up and cheeks the teachers it sounds really fun"

me"i thought she goes into the library for her gifted and talented reading group"
