Allocations 2010 - an early view

Hi all, as an OOC with a DC who passed I feel pretty dismayed at the figs posted. 1,000 appeals means chances of my DC getting preferred school is v low. However, I do feel v pleased for all those who have won qualification appeals as regardless of where we live we all want the best place for our children and reading some of the appeal posts it does seem many of those who have won appeals really deserved to do so. Just hoping there'll still be a place or two left come march tho......

I haven't posted them before this year. Apart from the exceptions I highlighted earlier on this thread the figures are very similar to previous years.newgirl wrote:I've been back through the forum but can't find whether or not the results have ever been posted. Would you know how they compare of the top of your head, or perhaps could point me to a previous posting?

Hi Sally Anne
Did you post the figures directly from the Bucks CC site? I'm curious because your columns suggest that the PAN for DCHS is 180 - whereas the Admissions Guide says it is 150 - which is what it has been in recent years.
If the PAN remains 150, it looks like there will be a squeeze on places at DCHS again this year.

DCHS pan number
Hi Demon Pixie
I'm afraid the bucks website does state 150 as the PAN number for DCHS the same as for the last 3 years. Sorry

Many apologies - I had to re-type them, rather than being able to copy and paste them, and that was the one that got away. I spent ages checking all the First Prefs to make sure that I got them right, but I obviously didn't check the PANs carefully enough as well. I have now done so, and edited my original post accordingly.
Actually the numbers for DCHS don't look too bad - 151 first preferences this year compared to 185 at the same point last year. In 2008 the figure was 147 and the allocation profile by August was all in-area, plus out-area to 11.393 miles from the school.
If I have time I will try to post figures for previous years for each school, but Code gets pretty hairy once you go beyond a couple of columns!

Thank you Sally-Anne, makes for interesting reading.
JHG has gone up quite a lot over the last couple of years, I wonder if there will be a problem in the Wycombe area as RGS looks like it will be oversubscribed as usual, you are normally safe with JHG but maybe not this year. We shall see ..........

I'm not sure about this, but the overall figures for the Wycombe area look fairly stable.Hope wrote:JHG has gone up quite a lot over the last couple of years, I wonder if there will be a problem in the Wycombe area as RGS looks like it will be oversubscribed as usual, you are normally safe with JHG but maybe not this year.
