Maths in Bucks exams
Hi All,
I am not sure whether my son should still be concentrating on maths....as we were told by our tutors that maths is not part of 11+ exams in bucks. Most of the verbal reasoning does include maths...please help.

Yes there are several maths types questions. They are based on maths skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing so number sequences, doing calculations on a series of numbers and bracket maths where you have to work out the relationship between 2 sets of 3 numbers and so work out the missing number in a third set. With my dd we practised multiplying and dividing up to about 18 times table (up to about 8* the number for 13-18 times tables) and repetition of lots of basic adding and subtracting facts up to 100. The quicker your child can recall these facts accurately the more time they have to spend on the Z type and code questions which are time-consuming.
