Moving into catchment in Feb

A friend of mine was asking me if I knew what would happen to her DD's school allocations - I wasn't sure :?: Here is her scenario:

DD sat the Bucks 11+, at a OOC (partner school) and she passed. They are moving next month to an area closer to their first choice school (Aylesbury Girls). Would the allocations/admissions be based on their original OOC address or the new one?

Bucks will view the application on March 1st from her old address. They will also have the issue of her old LA will then take the view from her new address, so will probably end up with no school allocation. If they did indeed place Sir Henry Floyd as a choice, then from previous years she will get given that on first round allocations though.

Her application will then be considered in further rounds(2nd round in mid April), providing that Bucks are satisified with all the evidence of new address etc etc.

I write this assuming she is ooc by a fair bit. If you are within say 14 or so miles, then she may get in on 1st round through her old address.

Thanks MM this is along the lines I was thinking.They live over 15 miles from AGS but they did put down SHF as their third choice on the CAF.

I would have thought the places at AGS would be filled in the first round of allocations so they would have no/little chance of getting in.

There have been further allocations for AGS every year after the first round, so that isn't necessarily true. More information here: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/school ... n-profiles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As the new address will be used for further rounds, they would probably be at the top of the waiting list for AGS, unless anyone else has moved into Bucks and is closer to the school.

There isn't much Sally Anne doesn't know on this, she helped me lots last year :)

AHS do also have spaces become available come 2nd round allocations, obviously with any school, after each round the amount will get smaller each time. If you look at the allocation table on here it gives you an example of how far out each school went after the initial 1st round and then how far at the end August I think.

Edited:AHS went to 18.06 miles at 1st allocation round last year and similar at this stage the year previously aswell.

Thanks guys for the info, I will pass it on.

What happens if they have put SHF as their 3rd choice? Come March they will not get AHS so will they get SHF allocated automatically and have no option of waiting for the 2nd round for AHS?

They can accept the one they are given and the either be on a waiting list for the other choice or appeal - being given choice 3 doesn't stop them doing this
