Small numbers throughout the country in this years class 6??

Post by Footymad »

Hi,
I've asked this question a couple of times already but to no avail.

Please could anyone tell me if I'm right in the fact that this years class sixes at Primary are very small numbers??

I have been told by various people, one a primary school teacher that it was a low birthrate school year begin sept 94/end aug 95??

Can anybody put my mind at rest.

So fingers crossed if I'm right, this fact should hopefully give my daughter a greater chance of an out of area offer for the school she has reached cut off for??

An extremely hopeful Footymad.

Dear Footymad

Your LEA should be able to give you an answer.

Get on the phone and demand answers!

As a guide, this is the link to government birthrate data from 1938-2003.
Not county specific, just overall birth rate data.

http://www.statistics.gov.uk/StatBase/x ... =94&B2.y=8

Hope this helps :?

I worked it out at about 7% lower nationally for 1994/5 school year as opposed to 1993/4 (and going down further next year).

Thanks for this, I thought it looked slightly lower.
