Beaconsfield High School (Girls)- Entry procedure

Post by mum's question »

Somewhere in this forum I've read that Beaconsfield High School (Girls) have their own seperate admission test at 11+. But their website says the following :
Year 7 Admission
Students are eligible to be considered for admission to BeaconsfieldHighSchool in Year 7 if they meet the required standard in tests currently used by Buckinghamshire County Council for 11+ selection, designed to select students with the aptitude and ability for a grammar school education. Applications should be made to Buckinghamshire County Council.

Can anybody confirm if there is any seperate exam for entry to Beaconsfield or not.....If so, when they take their test, is it before or after the Bucks 11+ exam and are the exams similar or quite different? Please advice.........

Dear Mum's question

Beaconsfield High School is a foundation Grammar school.

For entry into year 7 they use the Bucks County procedures ie the 11 plus, taken with all other in county children.

For entry into year 8 and above, they do not use the Bucks County Late transfer test, they set their own entrance exam [ usually cross curricular ]

Hope this clarifies
