Thought I would start a 12+ thread. (and SA said I should)
We will have no firm information until September, and I suspect it will be a case of keeping a cool head and trying to keep DS motivated whilst not becoming boring...
The KS2 assessments are here, we have top maths and science and should be safe English results. After our shock and disappointment with the whole 11+ trauma we are very proud of DS, and have not been making any assumptions.
It has to be said that the 11+ result has given us a far more motivated and able student and has been a real wake up call for DS. (oh so frustrating!)
We could presume not a lot will change, need level 5s for English and Maths if you sat the 11+ or a nice note from the head teacher if you haven't. (DD needed the note but that was a few years ago now)
However we plan to wait until September and just continue with quiet preparation.
There is an excellent link on the thread about the SAT results if you are finding the new English part confusing. I have stolen it and posted it here - http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/assessment/keystage2/pupil/b00209308/english-levels/english-formula
I believe the 12 plus questions have minor differences from the 11 plus and the main difference is more questions in less time.
Good luck all.
