She'll be fine, they always are ... it's us parents that watch the clock till they get home

My DD had a lovely first day at her school, came home smiling, telling about all the friends she had made ... scary thing that was two year's ago, she's now gone back today in Y9 ... where has the time gone!!!

Thanks heartmum, I think she will be fine, she was so excited last night she couldn't sleep and ended up in tears because she was so tired!
She's looking forward to homework and maths lessons (so strange!), just hope she still thinks it's exciting when she comes home today.

DS2 had a "brilliant" time, although they didn't get the glass of squash they were promised . He thinks his timetable is "brilliant", the form room is "brilliant", FT "brilliant".... you get the picture :P

'Snap' andyb - DD is home and everything is wonderful, it's amazing what an in-depth analysis can be made of a timetable!
Roll on day 2!

Our DS started at new school today and had a good day even made some new friends.Had a panic at home time though when the bus driver (we are OoC) rang saying that he was not on the bus. After several calls later to DS and bus driver turned out she was at the wrong school.Panic over but just what you don't need on the first day! :D

Please don't be the parent that rings the form tutor nearly every day for a term checking everything is OK ...

Don't panic when they fall out with friends from Primary school - nearly everyone will have different friends by Christmas. By then it will be impossible to identify those who came as the 'only one' from their Primary.

It's the long-awaited first day at BGS for DS today. He seems to be taking it all in his stride though, the Science Camp definitely helped to break the ice and make the first day less daunting for him.

Despite having everything ready for months, there was still the obligatory last-minute panic last night, so DH told me to leave the room so I wouldn't cause DS to panic too. :)

Good Luck to all the Year 7's!

That sounds like a real heart-stopping moment roo007! Thank goodness for mobile phones.
