CAF Strategy

My DS preference is to go to the local Grammar school (RGS) where his brother is already there. He attended 12 month 11 plus intensive tuition course prior to his 11 plus test this year. During this period he was regularly assessed and based on that I think he got a very good chance to pass the test. We live in the catchment area of two Bucks grammar schools (RGS & JHGS). It makes sense to put these on the top of the CAF list with the one he prefers (RGS) being the first. this leaves 4 slots on the CAF. We visited few non-grammar comprehensive schools in our area and we have a good idea which ones we prefer if my DS don't pass the test. However, I also thought of putting more bucks grammar schools on the list that take from outside catchment (William Borlases's & Burnham) in case RGS & JHGS are oversbscribed. This will leave two slots on tha CAF in which we will fill with two comprehensives that we prefer.
Is this a good strategy?
If he passes the test he have 4 chances. If he does not then he has only two!
Is it better to put two grammars and 4 comprehensives? so that if he does not pass he has 4 chances?
Is anybody thinking on the same lines? Any advice/feedback is mostly appreciated.
