Hope for the disappointed.

This time last year I was in the same position.
hedwigsmum wrote:Only able to post now. Really gutted, DS scored 115 & 115. Have spent evening putting a good act on for family. Don't want DS to think I'm disappointed in him. Bittersweet moment in restaurant, this evening. Saw headmaster of GS, I had hoped my DS would attend, celebrating his daughter's 11+ result. Pleased for them, but ouch!! Don't think we can appeal, as latest CATs only 4s.
Going away to grieve for my dream of a GS education. Tomorrow, I will start to embrace the positives of my boy being a bright boy at an upper school, rather that struggling at GS.
I thought about appealing, but we had no extenuating circumstances and the Headteacher felt we were right not to appeal.

My DS is now in Year 7 at the John Colet and loving every minute. He really likes his teachers, finds the lessons interesting and is doing well. Most importantly, he is happy.
So please be reassured that life outside of the Grammar School can be great.
