school choice
Hi, this is one for Patricia or anyone else who could help. My youngest wants to go to the same school as my eldest (who is at the comp). Have been told she has a good chance of passing 11+. What do I do? If I put my first choice as the grammar and she passes but does not want to go, have I lost her the chance to go to my eldest's school? Help!
You are right in thinking that if you put a Bucks grammar first and a (Berks?Oxon?) comp second choice, your daughter will not be offered the comp if she passes the 11 plus. You would then have to join the waiting list for the comp and take your chances.
As a family, you will have to decide. If she goes for the 11 Plus, there´s not much point in putting the comp first choice. But your daughter must then be prepared to go to the grammar if she passes (and be pleased about it?!).
Good luck
