Chances of gaining admission to a Grammar School in Bucks
Hello, My child has heard that only 35% of people who pass the 11plus actually get into a grammar school.
Would anyone please care to comment on that?
I initially thought that passing the 11plus would virtually guarantee a place, I guess that is wrong.
So will she need to now jump through more hoops to gain an admission?
Thanks again

No - it's about 35% of all Bucks children who actually go to a grammar.

Almost certainly not if you live in Bucks and you have applied to your catchment grammar school.Fatoldman wrote:So will she need to now jump through more hoops to gain an admission?
Wherever you live, broadly speaking it comes down to distance from school gates. (There's more to it than that, but that's the bottom line for most people.) Take a look here: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/school ... n-profiles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
