GS vs upper school funding in Bucks

I heard an old rumour today about there being a higher level of funding in Bucks for grammar school pupils versus upper school pupils. I had heard this several years ago but I am not sure if there is any truth in this at all. It does seem incredible (incredibly unfair) if there were different levels of funding applied. Could someone please finally debunk this myth.

Many thanks for your replies. I wonder how these old chestnuts keep on doing the rounds.

The result of parental gossiping. One faction of embittered parents bemoaning the system that "failed" their child, the other of proud parents wanting to(falsely) emphasise how much of a "better school" their child is going to...

I am a supporter of selective education but it would run so much more smoothly and be far less divisive if we parents were not involved...

When all funding was from the LEA the system was for very low funding for U16 education (the 3rd lowest in the country) and very generous funding for 6th formers. The switch to (the now defunct) LSC funding post 16 education led to changes
