Re: Bucks school application
A bit of copy and paste, I think.

Chesham grammar -kittymum wrote:It's worth double checking policies. SWBGS defines catchment as those living within the catchment area on 1st October but then in address evidence adds that to be considered in this area you need to gave been in residence from the April preceding (so April 2014) and can't have another property within 20 miles of school.
No idea what other schools policies say.
This one is a bit difficult I think. I agree having a property 20 miles down the road is open to interpretation of trying to get around catchment areas but surely having something in the Outer Hebrides or deepest darkest Wales isn't. Many people who will never be able to afford a property in Bucks can afford one in these areas and may well want to keep it available for family use rather than rent it out when the rent received might be fairly minimal and not worth the hassle. We will also ask for evidence to show that you have disposed of your old property or that it is no longer available for you and your family to live in.

kittymum, thanks for mentioning this. Double checked with BucksCC. The lady said the April requirement is not for Year7 entry. It is for sixth form.kittymum wrote:It's worth double checking policies. Year 7 is still October 1st.

Re: Bucks school application
Yes, it was confusing.
While we are at this topic, we are IA(in area) but OOC(out of Bucks county). According to my understanding, I have to fill a CAF to my local authority(in Berks) even if I am applying for Bucks school, right? Do I need to send an address proof to Bucks CC or my LEA? If my LEA then the council tax reference should be enough for them to verify?

Yes, you submit the CAF naming a Bucks school to your own LA. You should also send the address evidence to them.
A Council Tax reference will probably not be enough - you may not pay your Council Tax to the exact same authority. A copy of the most recent bill is best, or a copy of a utility bill.

Thanks Sally Anne. A combination of council tax and utility bills should suffice then.
It is strange as I was so clear about these rules earlier but when it is time to submit the CAF I am having all these questions while DD and her dad are still debating about putting Kendrick/SWBGS as first choice.
