The recent Ofsted inspection report is now online:

Thoroughly deserved!

Also in the website the following announcement:

"We are proud to announce that the Personalised Learning Team of SHFGS are finalists for the Autism Professional Award for Inspirational Education Provision – Secondary and over 16. This is a national award and we are one of three finalists, so this is a real achievement! The Autism Professionals Awards have been created to recognise and reward services and professionals who are leading the way in innovative autism practice and making a real difference to the lives of people on the autism spectrum in the UK."

Thanks for posting, we've been waiting for news and G55 you are so good at bringing us 'hot off the press' information.

This is fantastic for all concerned and richly deserved.

Our DD is thrilled her happy school is now 'branded' the same as the others in town (she chose it over the other choices and read the previous Ofsted herself). This report backs up what has been said/reflected on this forum for quite a while and how SHF parents felt too. It was the best fit and feel for us - making the battle and trauma of the transfer exam worth it.

No doubt SHF will become even more popular now........hmmmm.......

A huge Thank You to Guest 55, Sally-anne, Etienne et al for keeping us embattled (sometimes aghast, but committed and passionate) parents informed, forearmed and enlightened on this forum.

It is fantastic news for our children. It's just a shame the school haven't written out to all parents to pass on the good news!

Thoroughly deserved - our dd loves the school and we are very happy with it.

ConfusedAylesburyMum - I received an email from the school earlier with a link to the report.

BuzzyBee - got the email this morning. But I always thought the school was given time before it went live to let parents know the outcome - getting timing right.

But irrespective of that, its a fantastic report which all - staff, pupils and parents can be rightly proud of. We love SHFGS, my daughter is so happy there and doing so well. Makes me wonder about whether we made right GS choice for my son!!

A well deserved outstanding in every section of the Ofsted report for Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School.
My DD started in Yr 8 this September 2015 and she loves it. She is proud of the school and is flourishing unlike the upper she was at previously. However it was not one of the uppers which is doing well.
One of the issues I noticed in this Ofsted report compared to the upper my DD was at is that the Governors really hold the leadership team to account whereas in the upper my daughter attended, the Governors were - for various reasons - unable to challenge the leadership team and head effectively.

On the subject of breaking news I am quite happy that it took a little while to notify parents - it makes no difference to me whether I heard immediately or a few hours later. My DD said Mr Box seemed quite red faced as he was going round to every single class this morning to personally relay the news. He is a lovely head getting well deserved recognition for his school's efforts.
