Can anyone advise how the results are communicated (post/email/portal) this year ?

Thanks

Children attending Bucks state schools and Partner Schools (in and out of county) are handed a letter containing their results at the close of the school day on Friday 14th October.

All other out of county children's results are posted first class on Thursday 13th October, and to (hopefully) arrive in their home post on Friday 14th.

Perhaps this is also an opportunity to remind people not to post scores of 121 or more when the Transfer Test results arrive?

Hi guest55: I'm confused, please can you explain?

Why do you not want people to post scores? Is it because in Bucks it doesn't matter what score people get once they are past 121? So posting scores doesn't tell us anything (except how pleased the parents are)? Or is there another reason why they should not be posted?

(Confused because I'm just over the county border but all the Slough parents are forever obsessed with exact score because a majority of the places are rank based.)

Because a score over 121 is irrelevant - it just come across as boasting & make those whose DCs have not qualified feel bad. There are no rankings in Bucks.

It's a rule on this website that Bucks scores aren't posted.

Once you are qualified then the admission rules for each school come into play and they are based on catchment and distance.

Moderators will edit out the scores of 121 and above if anyone posts them as we do not allow the posting of Bucks Test scores.

As already pointed out, the actual score is irrelevant if the DC has scored 121 or above. They are deemed qualified regardless and score has no further bearing on whether they will get a place at a GS.

I always post a day or so ahead of the Bucks results about the rationale for not posting scores over 121, and also the whole "etiquette" surrounding Results Day.

The old donkey <clip clop, clip clop> will hopefully remember to do the same as ever this year.
