Rumour has it that John Hampden is good.

The Lord Williams's School near Thame also has a good reputation and, I think, more specialist provision.

There are a number of schools who have Children with AS who are undiagnosed but cope very well.

There are also a number of specialist residential independent schools that have excellent provision for higher functioning autistic children if you felt it would be appropriate.

Okay,

Try the National Autistic Society website - they list specialist schools.

Thank you i will look on the Natonal Austistic Society website.

I have heard that Lord Williams is good, but is out of county and I think that we have to prove that the provision in Bucks is inadequate. Which I presume means taking the county to court. have we got the time to do that, I'm not sure, as we only have 18 months left of his schooling.

Does anyone have any experience of the unit at Risborough School?

Thankyou.

:) I work at Risborough school although not in this area and have nothing but praise for the staff and their relationships with the students. Go and have a look around, they'd be more than happy to talk to you.

Hi Mrs Chubbs

Welcome to the Forum.

How lovely to have a member of a school's staff drop by, and sing it's praises too. :D

Although this Forum can be a little obsessed with Grammar Schools (for obvious reasons!) I hope you will keep an eye on it and post your advice and experience when you can.

You are not the first person to mention Princes Risborough school, thank you. I will go and have a look around.

Still evaluating options.
