Hi can someone explain the methods which are being used in secondary schools to assess reading or spelling accuracy please? Also, what do the results (numbers, ie RA-12 or SA-13 etc) mean?
Thank you in advance

I'm not sure what tests are used. DD has never mentioned any been done at secondary (I know she had them at primary).

RA and SA will stand for reading age and spelling age. The number will be the result. RA-12 means a reading age of 12.

Thank you Tinker, it makes sense. Got confused with the test being 'reading accuracy' also stands for RA.
