NVR section was hard and it may have bring down that total score.
I'm afraid that you just can't draw conclusions like that from a small sample.
One more doc - 1000 child more appeared for exam.

G55 - if you do not understand different pattern from 2017 entry to 2018 then you need different glass and I take exception to choice of word too.

neo - I'm afraid that mathematics is on my side - any 'difference' you see is not down to nvr. Where is the list of individual scores that enabled you to draw that conclusion?

Standardisation gives the same proportion of scores above the mean [100] from year to year - so what you post is rubbish.

G55 - there were 2 parts in my post - Overall score is down this year and there are less chillds who has score more then 150 this year compare to last year.

My feeling is that it is due to NVR because I did talk to 5-6 students and they have scored very high in other regions exam - I know it is not scientific nor truth. I use may word, it was my judgement which I have right to express. Sally is also differ with my view in nice way.

Neo

That is interesting as DS and a few of his friends found NVR to be the easiest part!

Tbh, does all this actually matter? especially as it's changing this year!

The 'top' score is very close to 2016 - and much lower than the previous year which you do not even mention.

A sample that small cannot be representative of a population.

Remember the whole score is skewed because of 'fixing 121' to the top 30% - you cannot draw conclusions about the raw marks from any of this. The raw marks might be higher this year - nobody knows.

What a horrible thing to say! Would you say that to someone in 'real life'? Everyone on here has feelings and there is no need to be unpleasant or you may find you are in danger of becoming what you have just accused G55 of. Disagreeing with your personal analysis of an entire county's scores based on the evidence of people you have talked to does not make anyone rude or nasty. I suggest an apology might be nice at this point.

Really?!
DS struggled hugely with NVR and this was reflected in his marks.
