How does the provider change of CEM to GL Assessment affect the content of the 11+ test for 2018? I'm new to this so need some help choosing resources, especially if the test is changing for next year!

If you search the forum you will find that we will know more in November. This gives everyone plenty of time :)

Hi
Just wanted to add that GL assessment do actually administer the test for other counties anyway so it's nothing new for them.
Bucks went to CEM because it was harder to "tutor" for but actually it proves that familiarisation to any test is beneficial.
GL assessment do have practise tests to download already but i remember the press release mentioned more will be added in November.
Hope that helps.

Personally I would suggest focusing on the core Maths and English skills with some focus on vocabulary, whatever the exam format. If the base is sound, CEM or GL or a school's own style of exam can be tackled with focused practice papers in the later stages.

completely agree , I would add comprehension reading and punctuation based questions.

Bucks Maths standard is Year 5 Level - I would not expect them to change that too, so no complex questions like area of trapezium etc.

GL verbal reasoning usually means testing "21 types" and there are hundreds of tutors who specialise in this.
GL English tests are usually aligned with KS2 curriculum.

The 21 types are NOT returning - you should run away fast any tutor that tell you this.

There is no way the Bucks GS would go back to the format they said was 'not up to scratch'; wait for November to get more details..
