I was being nosey just now to see if a tutoring company that I spoke to in July had updated their 11+ info on their website about the change in 11+ test provider, but no, still no change and in fact they are calling CEM the "new" 11+ test!!!! It's just crazy that a company who will charge so much for this service has not updated the information. So does that mean they don't know? Or does it mean they don't care about the change?
Either way it's not good!
Anyway, just my ramblings!

It’s the same as the local postcards through our door advertising “Best 11+ Tuition For Grammer School”.....

Just be aware that the folk who do not notice their errors are the folk who will be happy to hand over cash to these people.....

It hasn't been called the 11+ for quite a few years either.

to be fair to them this is what they have actually written;

Recently adapted for the new Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test (11+) as written by Durham CEM.

Now considering CEM have been doing the test for 5 years, for them to say new is laughable

I've heard some are offering the 'old' 21 types ...

It is hard to believe GL will offer something else for their verbal reasoning paper other than "21" types. This year Latymer school switched to GL from CEM and Verbal reasoning paper contained same "21" types. Please see the link below.
http://www.latymer.co.uk/admissions/year-7/Admissions-Arrangements-for-2018-Entry-(published-15-March-2017).pdf

We have to wait and see familiarisation papers in November .

Why do you think the Bucks GS Heads would go back to the discredited 21 types? I think this is highly unlikely.

this is actually on the bucks grammar schools website under their FAQ

https://www.thebucksgrammarschools.org/faqs

4. What will the tests assess?

The tests will continue to assess verbal, non-verbal and mathematical skills and children will sit two papers.

so VR will be incorporated in some way.

It is because GL verbal reasoning paper hasn't changed at all for many years . Many highly reputed independent and top ranking grammar schools still have it as one of the 4 papers (English, Maths, VR, NVR) in other regions.

The new Bucks test is bespoke - let's wait and see but I highly doubt we'll be back to the ridiculous papers of the past.
