Grammar - Additional Maths

Maths and FM are not classed as 2 A levels for many unis too - as in FM can be offered as a 4th A level but not as a 3rd for many of them.

It certainly doesn't seem to make a big difference on the percentages getting top grades, all three grammars were broadly similar for maths last year, although Wycombe had a slight edge on BH. Time will tell of course.
Perhaps it's better to give weight to the school's particular specialism, or does this make much of a difference on a subject level? For instance, Wycombe has Maths Hub status, does this make it a better choice for excelling at Maths, or are they all fairly similar regardless of their 'speciality'?!

Worth noting that even in some schools that do offer additional/further Maths at GCSE, not all children will have the option to take it.

At my one son's grammar I think it's the 'top' 60 students and at my other son's grammar I think the 'lowest' set/s do not take it.

Not entirely sure what a Maths Hub is but specialties disappeared a few years ago. There was additional funding attached when they were introduced but that stopped so, whether they have continued to be “special” or not, is probably doubtful as in being far superior to other similar schools.

I work in a school that still has specialist sports academy on the sign - they funded an all weather pitch with the money back in the day but the sport it offers now is really not anything to write home about and broadly similar to other schools in the area.
