Any Bucks selective for out of area candidates?

Are there any girls schools in Bucks which have seats for out of area catchment (i.e. not living in Bucks) candidates?

It’s worth looking at allocation distances to see how likely it is to get a place.

I don’t believe any of them do. Bucks GS are set up to serve Bucks children.

No, no places are reserved for out of area. If you look on the schools' websites you will find the admissions criteria.

Hi, the child has to achieve a passing score of 121 or more and for those that do, the admissions criteria will be applied which you can find on the schools' websites. If after allocating places to all the siblings and catchment children who have passed the test there are any places left then they start allocating based on distance to the school from the child's home. You can see on the Bucks website how far away these distances have been and how many children have been allocated places in each category. You do need to do your research properly before you enter your child for the test.

Which area do you live in JXP? Bucks is a large county and on its fringes there are some out of county children, BUT only those who are close to the borders, because there are no score based places in any Bucks schools. And despite some misinformation every year from various councils/tutors score makes absolutely no difference to allocation anywhere.

it’s interesting you say you have “no interest” in distance based allocation as that implies you live a long way from Bucks and have no intention of moving closer: I would congratulate you on your honesty here as we have had so many parents say “of course we’ll move for a place” when this then leads them to target schools far too far away for their DC to actually get to (and if the out of area DC do pass it takes a place away from a local Bucks children by pushing their mark lower, because the exams automatically fail two thirds of entrants)

Knowing where you roughly live may be useful to get a better answer and suggest which schools (if any) may be more sensible to try for. But don’t bother with Bucks if you’re out of historical allocation area, it will waste your and your DC’s valuable time.
