Re: 2nd round allocations 2021 entry
Yes agree the chances are pretty dim so I might as well stick to BGS. It does looks like a pretty changed school vs what it was few years ago
Re: 2nd round allocations 2021 entry
About BHS, I've been told by the school that this year they received the most number of applications with BHS as preference #1 and most of the allocation on March 1 went inside 0.3 miles. I thought it was a bit of exaggeration when I heard the first time because 0.3 miles is a ridiculously low catchment for any secondary school. But now it sounds like correct information.

All applicants within catchment (& all siblings) were offered places on March 1st, but I doubt they all (or even most of them) live within 0.3 miles of the school.pn8572 wrote:About BHS, I've been told by the school that this year they received the most number of applications with BHS as preference #1 and most of the allocation on March 1 went inside 0.3 miles. The statistics on first preferences are here.
177 Bucks pupils had BHS as their first preference & 92% of them were allocated BHS (15 pupils weren't). 170 of the allocations were from within Bucks, 10 were outside (presumably siblings). They had fewer first preferences than DCGS (212) and similar numbers to DCHS, RGS & SHFS.

Sorry, I should have been more clearer about my statement. I meant, BHS has received more number of 1st preference in the history of BHS and not compared to the rest of the Bucks schools.177 Bucks pupils had BHS as their first preference & 92% of them were allocated BHS (15 pupils weren't). 170 of the allocations were from within Bucks, 10 were outside (presumably siblings). The number of people who rejected the March 1st offer for the following schools is below.
1. Chesham Grammar School - 7
2. Beaconsfield High School - 6
3. Dr Challoners High School - 14
4. Wycombe High School – 1
I see that a couple of people in this thread are interested in BHS and WHS. Hope this helps.
The above information is based on the response from Bucks.

Re: 2nd round allocations 2021 entry
Does anyone know why so many ppl declined offer from DCHS this year ? Also it went till 3.857 miles ( out of catchment siblings) in 2nd round
In contrary ,6 ppl declined BHS offer and it went 0.433 miles which means 6 ppl moved within 0.433 miles .
I am thinking DCHS is more popular than BHS !
Any ideas about this pattern !!
Thanks
