Help! Creative Writing Task - How is this assessed?
My son sat the writing task yesterday. He wrote a long piece, but missed the point of the prompt which was to continue with a story on a theme. He started a new story, although it did have elements of the theme. Will he fail this task completely? Or will the writing be taken in to consideration?

Probably best to post in the relevant geographic region as each area is different. In Kent for example the writing task is ignored unless a it is borderline or appeal care.

I have moved this thread to Devon for you and removed the duplicate post that was already there, as this one already has replies and that one didn't. Moderator

I also have the same questions. My daughter took the Colyton Exam. They were given a topic but she ran out of time and did not finished her last line, just 3 words to end her story she has a good handwriting, good with spelling and grammar... her friend who also took the exam, were not so keen on writing and just used simple sentences. Just wondering how these tests are graded.
