Hiya. I don't understand standard deviation at all but your figures sound about right. Very useful. Thanks for sharing.

Considering you are in catchment, I wouldn't give up hope with 298. It might be close, but definitely a chance once you take out the ones that sat both and go to PGS. If you'd been out of catchment I would have been pessimistic. Best of luck!!
Congratulations on the pass!So stressed unable to post this correctly, third attempt! My son's score was 298 too, four friends scored 315 to 350, highest is score on the day was 375 according to BSB, we live in catchment, do we stand a chance?

Hi manicmum. Sorry somehow i hadn't seen you post. Congrats on your DS's pass.
I heard from various friends that they know a lot of Poole kids who sat BSB as practice for the PGS exam which was sat the following week. Normally Poole kids would sit the BSB exam & take the place then move in year 8 as that's when Poole used to have their exam. Now that they both sit in yr 7, you will hopefully find that Poole will just go to Poole if they pass both & that should free up some spaces. That should also result in a shorter waiting list if you don't manage to get in outright. That's my educated guess...
All the best & congrats on the pass

Hello,
My son scored 134 in Poole Grammar School and 350 in Bournemouth Grammar. He would prefer Poole Grammar as his first choice as we are in the catchment of Poole Grammar School.
Really pleased with the results!!!

One more sleep! Not often I wish a Sunday to pass quickly so that it will be 9am on Monday morning!
Best of luck to all of you out there waiting for your DS/DD's school allocation.
