If you want your daughter to go to PGS (and she is eligible with that score) you have to put it as your first preference. If you don't do this the admissions people think you prefer an alternative i.e. non selective catchment and will give her a place there if there is one. If PGS is full and you can't get a place then they will look at offering your second preference. You have to put the school you really want the most first. Does that make sense?

Agree with above.

BH12 is a catchment postcode and your child passed well over the pass mark so if you put PGS as your first preference I can see no reason why you wouldn't get it.

Is someone able to advise how much is the standardized score out of?

Standardised scores give an indication of how a child performed in comparison to the other children. So it is not really out of anything. Many cap at 140/141 but CEM have been know to use higher levels. A score of 100 would usually indicate an average score.

This is still a bit confusing. If the 3 tests are capped at 141 does it mean the total score should be out of 423? I have received conflicting views from other parents that the test was out of 400 whilst another told me that their son had passed with 405.

Sorry - I don't know the answer in your area. Nfer/GL assessment are usually 140/141 but CEM can go higher.

Thank you. The assessment was GL and there were three papers, Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.

Highest mark for BS (GL assessment) last year was 414. I believe scores over 400 are considered exceptionally high. Good luck with your application.
