1st March 2020 Parkstone allocation

Post by Kelster1976 »

Hi,
I'm not 100% how they allocate places at Parkstone Grammar and the difference in being over-subscribed but I do know that a pass in the 11+ does not guarantee a place. Do we have a very good chance of being offered a place if we live in catchment and our daughter scored 423 ?
I think it's such a shame for girls who pass the test and cannot get offered a place and have told my daughter we still need to wait until 1 March even though the hard bit is over.
Thanks

I would say your daughter will defintely get a place with that score, we know of out of catchment girls that got in with about 325!

Oversubscription is just a way of deciding who gets places if more people than can be taken - basically Parkstone take currently or previously looked after children first and then the following:

in area PP by score
in area non PP by score
out of area PP by score
out of area non PP by score
c. Eligible girls who live within the Borough of Poole or Poole postcodes BH12, BH13, BH14, BH15, BH16,
BH17, BH18 and BH21 3**, and who are currently entitled to the Pupil Premium1
(at 31 October 2019).
Documentary evidence will be required at the point of test registration.
d. Eligible girls who live within the Borough of Poole or Poole postcodes BH12, BH13, BH14, BH15,
BH16, BH17, BH18 and BH21 3**.
e. Eligible girls who live outside the Borough of Poole or Poole postcodes BH12, BH13, BH14, BH15,
BH16, BH17, BH18 and BH21 3**, and who are currently entitled to the Pupil Premium (at 31
October 2019). Documentary evidence will be required at the point of test registration.
f. Eligible girls who live outside the Borough of Poole or Poole postcodes BH12, BH13, BH14, BH15,
BH16, BH17, BH18 and BH21 3** in rank order of the entrance test scores, with those girls
obtaining the highest scores given higher priority.
In the event of over-subscription in any of the above criteria, then priority will be given to those students
obtaining the highest scores.
