Don't want to raise your hopes without anything concrete but on the past years that I have info on you will get a place. There are usually a few who have places at independents or have moved. Will probably take a little while though.
Make friends with the lady who has the waiting list info!
Hope it works out for you.

It is a statistical method, I assume based on a normal curve, using standard deviations from the mean. This top score for each subject is then 130 (which should make three standard deviations from the mean), this should include all bar 1% of the scores. So 130 can be awarded for less than 100%.

This means that if an exam is hard and all of the children score lower scores they will still have the same chance as other years. It does mean that you cannot predict what a score of 303 will entail, but if you try and work out the scores you can usually get a rough percentage. This year seems to be 60% Southend out of catchment, early 60's for CRGS and early 70s for KEGS. 50% seems to be approx 300.

CRGS waiting list

Post by yet so far »

Maybe not as far as I initially thought.......

DS has been offered a place at CRGS. Was originally 3rd on list if this info helps anyone out there. Thank you for all the help and support that all posters on this forum have unknowingly given me over last few weeks. Need to tell DS now!
