Transport to Brentwood School

My S is starting in September - Year 7. Is there anyone in Romford area going to and / or attends the School? I know that there is a coach service that costs about £450 or so per term but affordability is really an issue for me.
Also any advice for a new starter? Would really appreciate any information on what to expect / what it is like. Thanks in advance
