I remember seeing somewhere that there were residential w/e 11+ crash courses and I wanted to enrol DS on. Anybody seen or heard about a week long or w/e crash course?

Hi Gottal

If you don't mind me asking.....what's the reason for the crash course?

because the summer holidays are too long and I would like him to have the crash course before going back to school in Sept and taking his first exam in Sept/Oct. Do u know anything about these residential courses? I saw it last year but forgot to take their details. I thought it was in Kent.

Which exams are you taking? The Kent and Essex 11+ are very different in subjects and format. The only thing in common is the VR paper.

Moved is right, you need to check up on what is required.

Also I reckon little and often is better than a crash course

Thanks for your replies. DS will be sitting Essex and Kent 11+ and CE for an independent school. He is already doing some VR, Maths and English for the Essex 11+ but nothing for Kent. I intend to request some tests papers for the CE and try them before he returns to school in Sept. I suppose we have more time for the CE as he doesn't sit them till January.

he has not done any NVR as of yet. I hear a term's practice shd be fine. Is that realistic? I've seen the book and don't have a clue myself of what is required of them.
