Hi all, I have heard that Essex may be bringing in a catchment area of 12 miles for colchester and chelmsford grammers! Has anybody heard the same.

For 2013 entry it is only Chelmsford that has this in place and I think it's 12.5 miles, although they are taking a small percentage outside of catchment, I think 20% (somebody will correct me if I'm wrong!).

As far as the boys' grammar in Colchester is concerned (CRGS) I'm not aware of any proposal to bring in a catchment area at the moment.

I suspect that both grammars in Colchester will be watching what happens in Chelmsford very closely though!
