However ECC website states the following re. waiting listsWhere selected girls drop out after the
offer of a place is made, places will be offered to the next qualified girl(s) in rank
order whose application expressed a preference for the school (subject to the same
conditions as the preceding paragraph). This process will be operated until the end of
the first week of the Autumn Term, when the order of merit waiting list will cease to
apply and any further vacancies will be treated as in year vacancies (see para 1.11).
I always thought waiting lists had to be held until xmas - does academy status change this???15.1 The minimum legal requirement is that a waiting list is maintained for at least the first term in the normal year of entry. There is no requirement to keep a waiting list at any time or for any other school year. Admission authorities may choose to keep waiting lists for longer than one term and in other school years if they wish.
Academies are their own admission authority, and the statement above applies to them just as much as it does to any other type of school.2.14 Waiting lists. Each admission authority must maintain a clear, fair and objective waiting list for at least the first term of the academic year of admission
