Travel costs

Post by campergirl »

Hi

With DD sitting exam in Sept I've been having another look at school and travel options. Her travel will begin at Laindon station so it's either the coach to Chelmsford or train/walk to Westcliff.

Does anyone know what the costs are for these travel options. I believe coaches are approx £1200 a year but what is the cost per year for train ticket from Laindon to Chalkwell, does anyone know?

I know I could probably phone C2C and find out but I thought it would be far easier to get the info from a family who already makes the journey :D

http://www.whsg.info/images/TrainTicket ... rocess.pdf will not tell you directly the actual ticket price, but will tell you how to get a discount :)

To give you an idea current annual adult ticket is £864 so child gets 50% discount = £432
You should also get more off this using the link ToadMum supplied.
More often than not travelling by train works out significantly cheaper than coaches.
