I know one who is going to Woodford, if that helps! :D score approx 370.

We were aspiring to CCHS for DD2, but after her score we aren't any more.

232 in catchment to add to the bottom of your list.

It is a great school. Her sister loves it.

I have just heard of an out-of-catchment girl who has a standardised score of 410.

Hi 2 to go

410 is an incredible score.

I am out of catchment and know of scores in previous 2 years of the 1st ranked C and none of them scored that high. Though there is a separate thread on maximum marks and statistical probability of DC scoring more than 400 (6 being possible?), 410 would mean a score of approx 40+, 37+,78+.

This is of course, theoretically possible but under actual exam conditions where the papers are one after the other, it is incredibly difficult unless the concerned DC is bordering on genius.

Hats off the DC who has achieved this. If you could share the individual subjects score, it will be extremely useful for other aspirants in the future. Is this a DD or DS?

Many thanks

The number six was given to me by one poster, who provided me with the statistical calculations. Two other posters have corrected me privately. One just said that six was wrong, but didn't provide me with more evidence and the other pointed out that it was anywhere between 0 and 12!

It is 20 years since I did any stats at university, so I'm afraid I cannot verify the number!

Hi Moved

Thanks for your response - my statement was not meant to be a criticism and am grateful for your contributions thar are very helpful. I am less of a statistician than you are.

My only humble observations on the statistical analysis on this forum, is that the SS for the individual subjects are of discrete variables than random variables and the overall SS does not have to follow a normal distribution. The SS of all the DC across the 3 subjects may be skewed with fat tails and we don't know whether fat tails are on the lower end or upper end. Hence it is difficult to prognosticate that there ought to be 6 above 400 or 12 or even 1.

Thanks

When this list is final, I would like to copy the last post into the scores thread for completeness. I will then unsticky it.
