Thanks to all input from everyone on this forum. Everyone has been pretty amazing. Our DD has now been offered a place at SHSG. she was 13th on the waiting list as at 8th of March when we called, we got the offer letter on Saturday and we are very delighted and grateful to God. :D

We live presently in Harlow and so will have to relocate to Southend, commuting from Harlow to Southend will be absolutely impossible for her, can anyone who live presently in Southend please let me know the name of good primary schools as we also have two younger sons and will want them to sit the 11+ in future. I think i have read on this forum before about two primary schools that teach 11+ plus from year 3, am not too sure so all input are greatly welcome or any good primary school.

We have no clue at all about Southend so all advise on good areas to rent too will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hi,
How old are your other children? If they are already at school I guess it's a matter of which schools have spaces ? I relocated to thorpe bay and its very nice here x

Thanks. They are 7 and 4. i have found the thread on this forum that talked about the two schools that teaches VR once a week. West Leigh and bournes green. and like most parents who have kids there said they support with tutors which is fair enough but at least it is taught in school unlike other state schools.

Next thing is to pay a visit and check out the surroundings.

West Leigh is the only state school that does VR within school hours. Bournes Green doesn't and hasn't actually been terribly pro the 11+; all the children I know who go there had tutors for the 11+. Look at the schools close in the Marine Estate in Leigh to guarantee a place at West Leigh.
