Anyone taking a bus to ColCHS???

Post by DBSUK_MOM »

Hello everyone.
Is there anyone who has to take a bus to Colchs? I don't mean the CSSE bus but a public transport bus. In my case, things are really complicated as we can't get a bus that will take DD directly to CCHS (we live in Colchester.) We have to take 2 buses- bus no. 64 and then 65. So is anyone in colchester taking these buses to ColCHS so she can have a company?? Any feedback on this matter would be appreciated.

I can't comment on the 64, but the 65 will be packed with girls going to ColCH. In the afternoon there is a special 65 that starts in the school bus park and it is always busy.
At DD's induction day, older girls were found for each of the bus routes to escort the new girls.
I don't know how they decide on forms, but most of the year 8 girls on DD's bus are also in her form so she may find someone on induction day also travelling that way.

Hi my daughter is in year 7 at ColCHS we live on the 64 bus route and my daughter just walks to school in about 25 to 30 mins from Layer Road, she cuts through Norman Way and approaches the school from the back going past Phillip Morant, I am not sure where you live on the route, but maybe just the one bus may be enough. There are always lots of children walking this way.

Could she just get a bus into Town ?Head Street and walk from there?
Crowds of pupils from all 3 Norman way schools walk that way - probably easier than 2 buses in the rush hour!

Your suggestion is highly appreciated. I will consider it or try to move a little closer to the school.

Don't worry too much - when they first start these logistics can seem a big deal but after a while they tend to get the hang of it and generally quite enjoy a time after school to chat to friends as the make their way home.
Might be worth seeing how it goes before thinking about moving.
Hope it all goes well!
