Makes interesting reading. What happened in 2012 - is that when the catchment criteria altered?

Assuming the data is accurate - the number of total passes seems plausible (250,222,223,202 for 2010,2011,2012,2013). My interpretation is that the key change is the number of total recorded fails (597, 549, 573, 138) where presumably 400+ received their results and did not put the CSSE 11+ Southend schools on the CAF as the score was likely to be too low.

Well I suppose if children scored less than 303 they'd know there was no point applying. The startling thing is that the children passing who attend schools in the borough have dropped by 50 in this period. That's quite a shift.

Great work rockerjjt, but
I checked the admissions booklet for their numbers and found these numbers don't stack up.
In 2012 there were 275 admitted from I/C
In 2013 there were 323 admitted from I//C
Have I missed something

ic extends beyond Southend Borough Council to which the FOI query was directed.. So you have to include those children who are part of Essex County Council but are in priority catchment...

Private schools are not included on that table and quite a few children will have come from one of the many local private schools.Hopefuldad wrote:Great work rockerjjt, but

Also the wider catchment area is not included in southend data, so children from nearby are in catchment but not in southend schools (spots codes are essex schools as well). Hope that helps explain the difference.

Thank you all, that does explain the differences
