Just got the post. DD scored 126.90. We are OOC and our first choice is CCHS. Now the long wait to March 2, 2015!!

An IC ranking and an OC ranking would have been much better. Must say the Redbridge council are better at this . They gave us a standardised score, a rank and mentioned about the past 4/5 years last cutoff ranking.

Congrats TP123. Well done to your DD

Thank you Aug04. Congrats to you too. We can't really relax until March 2 now as we only have 24 places and highest mark this year is 138 (According to the letter).
Good luck to all other DD and parents!

Don't forget that a large number of these 300 could be OOC and so not competing directly with the IC girls for the majority of the places.MmeOgg wrote:Is it just me, or is having the top band so wide that it includes 300 girls almost wilfully unhelpful.
It means that we are hoping that 180 of the highest achieving girls who chose to sit for CCHS specifically, decide to pursue places elsewhere.
Just remember - put the schools in the order that you really want them. You have nothing to lose putting ChCHS first if that's what she wants.Chidobasi wrote:@ silkenwings was wondering same as well.DD got 102 i/c,do you think it might be worth putting on CAF form, she did well in CSSE wth a score of 354 and is in green for ColChs

THis is the reply I got from CCHS admissions:
Thank you for your enquiry.
As per the letter, no further information in relation to your daughter’s performance in the entrance test is available.
Please may we refer you to your letter where we divided the total number of results into 3 ranges. If your daughter’s score falls within the top range, she will likely gain a place at CCHS as there will be candidates within that range who will not apply. If your daughter’s score falls within the middle range do not rule out the opportunity to apply. As per our admissions policy, 96 places are offered to girls living within 12.5 miles of the school and 24 places to girls irrespective to where they live. At this stage we do not know who will apply and where the applicants live.
We recommend parents to list schools in the order they would like their daughter to attend. If your first preference cannot be met, your second preference will be considered.
We cannot guarantee if your daughter will be offered a place in March 2015 as we do not know who will apply and what their results are.
The Common Application Form (CAF) must be submitted to your Local Authority by 31st October 2014.
Regards
