Your DD could:

a. Walk 3 minutes to Ilfracombe Road from Southend East

b. Take bus Number 1

c. Stop at Arlington Road

d. Walk another 2 to 3 minutes to Southend Girls High.
You do have to cross over the main road to get to the eastbound at stop, going towards school, but it is not difficult to do this safely. Most girls just t an umbrella and walk from station to school, though :) .
